Dutch StarCaft II Power Rank

It’s time for a list – and not just any list! With the DSCL Open starting soon we thought it would be informative to compile a top-10 of Dutch StarCraft II-players. Not surprisingly, most of these have also qualified for the DSCL Open.

Let us know in the comments whether you agree with our top-10. Did we miss anyone? And which of these players do you expect to qualify for the Finals Event in Den Bosch? Here we go! Our first player is…

1) Grubby

Grubby is currently part of the WCS Premier league and has extensive experience in e-sports due to his WarCraft 3-background. His status as an international e-sports athlete, bolstered by his professional attitude, make him the Prime Minister of Dutch E-sports.

2) Harstem

Second is Harstem, who got first place in the DSCL spring invitational, and is the reigning champion of the DSCL Open. He also plays in international events such as DreamHack and gets invites for tournaments such as HomeStory Cup.

3) uThermal

Third is uThermal, who has won Frag-o-Matic in February, taking home the first place over Jona and Sjaak. He also played in WCS Challenger League and is ranked top 16 in grandmaster EU. uThermal is a very good allround player and has the ability to play standard macro games as well as builds such as proxy 2rax.

4) Jona

Fourth is Jona, who took 2nd place DSCL spring invitational and Frag-o-Matic. He is also constantly ranked near top 50 GM with his main account. Jona studies the top Korean players for build orders and strategies so he is always up to date with the best ways to play his race. Jona is currently aiming to perform well in offline LAN events and will participate in the Copenhagen games and future DreamHack events.

5) Sjaak

Sjaak is ranked 5th in this power ranking because he got 3rd place Frag-o-Matic and 3rd place DSCL spring invitational. He has good mechanics and is ranked around top 50 in grandmaster EU also with his main account. Many are waiting for Sjaak to be old enough to play in the WCS, where he can prove he is indeed one of the best players not only of the Benelux, but also of Europe.

6) Ret

Ret has hasn’t won or performed anything recently but has historical performances. He certainly knows the mechanics of the game, but perhaps he needs some motivation to start competing again.

7) Optimus

Optimus has some very strong ZvT mech. He played some very close series against Jona in the DSCL spring invitational and is Grandmaster on EU ladder. Even though he is on the same team as uThermal, their styles vary significantly. uThermal plays based on better mechanics and macro, while Optimus games are based more on smart plays and build orders.

8) Bouli

Bouli is the best Belgian player at the moment. Dutch enough, we’d say :). He performs well in the WCS qualifiers and is improving at his own rate. He beat players such as Snitchables, Bsk and CPU in the last qualifiers. Bouli is also consistent in his performances, both online and offline.

9) Jaypower

Jaypower has recently joined My Insanity and is now staying at the Myi teamhouse to practice and learn how to become a better player. Without any doubt, he will start performing better and better in the future.

10) Rainman

Rainman is one of those players who do very well under perfect environments. He’s been ranked top 50 GM since Wings of Liberty but has been underperforming in LAN events. With the help of his new team though, he might be able to perform much better in offline events and perhaps get a first place in future tournaments.

Je underrate jezelf Luca! Ik zou je sowieso boven een paar genoemde spelers plaatsen.
